2020 sees the first ever Vietnamese Grand Prix, which is set to take place in Hanoi. Here we have put together an 11-day itinerary that doesn’t just cover the actual race, but also gives you time to discover the delights of this wonderful country for yourself. With time in Hanoi and Hoi An, as well as a relaxing overnight cruise on picturesque Halong Bay enhancing your Grand Prix experience. We have included tickets for the practice sessions as well as the race itself, with seats in the Starting Grid Grandstand offering you a great view of the finnish line.

Day 1

Thursday 2 April – Fly to Hanoi

Take a scheduled flight from London or your regional airport to Hanoi.

Day 2

Friday 3 April – Arrive Hanoi

On arrival at the airport in Hanoi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel to check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax after your journey.

Day 3

Saturday 4 April – Qualification Day (B)

Following breakfast at your hotel, make your way to the track for Qualification Day. after a full day at the circuit, return to your hotel to preepare for the next day.

Day 4

Sunday 5 April – Vietnamese Grand Prix  (B)

After an enjoyable hotel breakfast, return to the track for the inaugarul Vietnamese Grand Prix! Spend the day soaking up the thrilling atmosphere and cheer on the competitors of this historic occaision. After the race, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 5

Monday 6 April – Hanoi to Halong Bay  (B, L, D)

Today you join the Bhaya Classic for an overnight cruise of Halong Bay. Your journey starts cruising towards the southeast of the bay, passing Trong Mai Islet, Ngon Tay Islet, Con Coc Islet, Cua Van Floating Culture Centre. The first destination to visit is Trinh Nu Cave, one of the finest sunlight-filled caves in Halong Bay with a stunning assortment of stalactites and stalagmites. There is plenty to keep you occupied whilst on board, such as swimming in the beautiful jade waters, taking part in a cookery class, squid fishing, or simply enjoying a drink at the bar as you admire the passing landscapes. Full details of all the activities available will be given once you board the ship.

Day 6

Tuesday 7 April – Halong Bay to Hanoi (B, Brunch)

You can start the day early with some Tai Chi on the Sundeck before breakfast. Then maybe try a spot of kayaking on this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by an enjoyable brunch before disembarking and returning to Hanoi for the night.

Day 7

Wednesday 8 April – Hanoi to Hoi An (B)

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and transfer to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Danang. On arrival at DaNang Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Hoi An to check-in.

Days 8, 9 and 10

Thursday 9, Friday 10, Saturday 11 April – Hoi An (B)

These few days are free for you to explore Hoi An at your leisure. You could get to know the old town, admiring the Japanese Covered Bridge and maybe visiting the preserved Tan Ky House. Perhaps you would like to join a cookery class and learn you to make regional dishes to impress friends at home, or why not hire a bicycle and peddle through the surrounding countryside to one of the local beaches. Whatever you decide there is plenty to keep you occupied in this picturesque ‘Venice of Vietnam’.

Day 11

Sunday 12 April – Fly to UK (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel before checking-out and taking your transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

  • Weekend Formula One Grand Prix Tickets The reserved seating is in the Starting Grid Grandstand at the Hanoi Street Circuit, situated on the main straight, overlooking the start/finish line and pit lane. From here you will be able to witness the moment the race gets underway and the cars roar off the grid, jostling for pole position.
