In November 2018, our experienced Tour Manager Derek Myers, guided a group of cricket enthusiasts around Sri Lanka, following the England team in their three match test series. They were privileged to see England claim a 3-0 whitewash, winning the games by 211, 57 and 42 runs respectively.
There was a mix-up with accommodation before the tour started, with someone at the Sri Lanka Cricket Board forgetting to book hotel rooms for the players and staff. But Derek was already there and managed to ensure that those travelling with Sport Links Travel weren’t moved into accommodation miles from the ground.
As well as the cricket, guests were treated to delicious meals, excursions and trips to the beach, during their month long stay on this most beautiful of island countries.
Here are some of the photo’s taken during the time in Sri Lanka, to tempt you into joining one of our future tours following the England Cricket Team.

Staying at the lovely Les Jardins du Marais located in the historic district of Les Marais, we had a great time exploring this interesting area with it’s medieval feel, traditional bars, restaurants and boutique shops. Along with our fellow rugby fans we took the user friendly Paris Metro to the Stade De France to watch Ireland take on France in the Six Nations 2018. From our perfectly placed seats, we watched an arm wrestle of a first half, followed by a second half which provided all the thrills of Six Nations rugby. Following a staggering 41 phases of rugby (in wet conditions), Mr Sexton kicked a stunning drop goal to the amazement of the Irish fans (and to the disbelief of the French) to win the match in spectacular fashion. After heading back to Les Marias district, we swapped cheery conversations with friendly French supporters in a cosy local bar that served an agreeable bottle of vin rouge!

Our latest cricket tour featured India take on Australia in the final Test match of the Series at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. ‘I have just about recovered from jetlag with tremendously positive memories of our tour. The flights to Dharamshala were excellent accompanied by Australian supporters and Indian commentators. If anything, the transfer service there was the best of the trip. I personally loved the hotel there. The location was stunning, the food outstanding, the room well above average and the service all I could have asked for. I would go back there any day. The beautiful cricket ground was certainly worth travelling for. The Dubai airport hotel was well up to standard and they escorted us to the gate in the morning. If our Australia trip is nearly as good, I shall be well pleased.” Fred and Barbara
