The Singapore Grand Prix 22 September 2024
The Marina Bay street circuit plays host to the Singapore Grand Prix. The race starts at 8pm, and is run under lights, creating a special atmosphere for both spectators and Grand Prix drivers. For the racing the street circuit has 23 corners and an uneven surface that makes for top racing. Singapore itself is a wonderfully clean city with much to see and do. Singapore’s history with the UK began in 1819, when Stamford Raffles established Singapore as a trading post of the British Empire. In 1867, the colonies in Southeast Asia were reorganised, and Singapore came under direct control of Great Britain. Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons.After the race weekend, relax at one of the beach resorts on Penang, Sentosa Island, Bintan Island or Bali. The next stop is at the famous Lau Pa Sat Hawker food market and finishing at the light show at Gardens by the Bay. The two drop off points are Orchard Road, Singapore’s prime shopping street or Clarke Quay, a busy dining and entertainment district home to restaurants, bars and clubs. Overnight Singapore.

Today is a day at leisure to enjoy the innumerable attractions the city has to offer such as taking the cable car to Sentosa Island. Singapore has one of the best public transport systems in the world; their metro system known as the MRT is extensive, cheap and air-conditioned so it is very easy and safe to explore. Morning tour to George Town. 26 September - Late afternoon tour to Penang
Late afternoon tour to Penang Hill located in the Penang Botanic Gardens. Penang Hill is the oldest British hill station in Southeast Asia, dating back to the late 1700’s. We take the 2-kilometre journey up Penang Hill by funicular train to an elevation of 833 metres (2,732ft) above sea level for great views of the island. This is where the British retreated from the heat and there are a total of 52 hill bungalows located on Penang Hill most of them are more than 100 years old and Bel Retiro (Governors Bungalow) built in1789 is the oldest.
