Suitable for groups, couples and individual travellers, the country offers a huge range of fantastic golfing options. Sport Links Travel offers tailor-made packages to suit individual requirements and budgets in magnificent destinations across the country including Florida, South Carolina, California and Arizona to name but a few.

Florida

Florida is the southeasternmost U.S. state, with the Atlantic on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. It has hundreds of miles of pristine beaches. Tallahassee is the capital and the city of Miami is known for its Latin-American cultural influences and notable arts scene, as well as its nightlife.

With more than 1,250 courses, the Sunshine State of Florida is the most visited state in America for golf and offers superb golfing weather. It is no surprise why the majority of the PGA TOUR’s players base themselves here. We offer a range of tailor-made golf packages staying at world-leading all-encompassing golf resorts in Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami and Naples; some include the PGA TOUR venues of PGA National, Innisbrook, Bay Hill, and Sawgrass where golfers can try their hand on the iconic 17th hole. Away from the course, travellers can enjoy time at the magnificent beaches and visit theme parks including Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios and Epcot. Due to the warmer climate, Florida can be explored throughout the year.

The West Coast – California

California, stretches from the Mexican border along the Pacific for nearly 900 miles. It offers visitors some of Americas most iconic attractions including giant redwood trees, the iconic Hollywood sign, Alcatraz Island or hike in Yosemite National Park. The city of Los Angeles is the centre of the Hollywood entertainment industry and hilly San Francisco is known for its cable cars and Golden Gate Bridge. The best time to visit California is in the spring and autumn as the temperatures are usually pleasant and not too hot.

The visually impressive courses of Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass and Torrey Pines are just some of the iconic golf courses found on the west coast. There are many fabulous golf options and first-class resorts located in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego and Monterey. Each itinerary can be tailored to suit both budget and preferred golfing experiences. Just a 2-hour drive from Los Angeles, travel inland and discover Palm Springs, which boasts championship golf courses including La Quinta, Mission Hills and India Wells Resorts. The desert landscape provides a warm climate with temperatures ranging from 22 – 32° C in high season from November to April.

Arizona & Nevada

Arizona is a sunny southwestern U.S. state that brims with natural and cultural attractions; the best known being the Grand Canyon, the mile-deep chasm carved by the Colorado River. Flagstaff, a ponderosa pine–covered mountain town, is a major gateway to the Grand Canyon. Other natural sites include Saguaro National Park, protecting cactus-filled Sonoran Desert landscape.

With a flight time of 11 hours from the UK, many British golfers head inland to Nevada and Arizona to escape the cold weather and enjoy some of the finest desert courses in the world. Las Vegas, the biggest city of Nevada is legendary for its off-course attractions along The Strip, and has several very fine courses including Tom Fazio’s Shadow Creek. Arizona is home to the desert landscape of Scottsdale with breathtaking mountain ranges, large boulders and many cacti. Scottsdale and Phoenix offer many places to play and stay with their world-class golf courses and impeccable resorts. High Season dates are November – April with temperatures ranging from 20 – 30° C.
