Premadasa International Stadium (known prior to June 1994 as the Khetterama Cricket Stadium, after the area of Colombo it stands in) was the brainchild of the late Sri Lanka President Ranasinghe Premadasa, who championed the development of this colossal 35,000-seater concrete bowl, the biggest stadium in the country. Opened on February 2, 1986.

Next two days tour to down south and spend your time in the the city of Galle or on the beach. The Galle fort is a World Heritage Site and is the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. Visit Galle International Stadium, considered to be one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the world. Bentota Beach, located in Sri Lanka, is a popular destination known for its golden sands, calm waters, and luxurious resorts. It’s a great spot for relaxation.

Galle – said to be the famous Tarshish of the Bible where King Solomon obtained gems and spices, this “Living” UNESCO World Heritage Site is the port where the Portuguese first landed in Sri Lanka in 1505. Captured and fortified by the Dutch who ruled maritime Sri Lanka in the 17th and 18th centuries, the city still retains the air of old Holland. Within the well preserved 90-acre fort and ramparts built in 1663 are old Dutch churches and monuments with armorial bearings, an imposing crested, and monogrammed gateway dated 1669, many well preserved old Dutch houses and narrow alleys still bearing Dutch names. The New Oriental Hotel, built for a Dutch governor in 1684, a colonial gem now converted to the internationally renowned Amangalla Hotel and several other excellent boutique hotels are testimony to the importance of this location.
Optional Whale Watching – Pick up at 05:00 am Arrive at the Harbor by 0630 HRS and be met by your naturalist guide for the day and the crew. Set out across the azure sea with the clear and crisp early morning breeze to keep you cool. The naturalist on board will be a fount of incredible facts about local marine life making the expedition an intense ‘Marine Nature Watch’, experience. After leisurely breakfast, you will be transferred to Sigiriya.

You have the OPTION to engage on afternoon Game drive at the Minneriya National Park (3pm -6pm.
The Minneriya national park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants, which are often present in huge numbers, and wading birds. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Tank, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq. km to also provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles and leopards.
29 January - Sigiriya

Sigiriya Rock Fortress. – A UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most dramatic, inspiring and beautiful historical locations in the world. Sigiriya is a fortress-palace which was built atop a towering rock in the 5th century, and a mythical past of feuding dynasties enhances Sigiriya’s striking setting
Polonnaruwa – this medieval city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rose to fame as the capital (10th – 12th century AD) after the decline of Anuradhapura.
Rangiriya Dambulla Cave Temple – which is in the North Central Province. This UNESCO World Heritage Site which dates to the 01st century BC, is an amazing complex of 05 caves, first used as a refuge by an ancient king who on regaining his throne
Game drive at the Minneriya National Park (3pm -6pm) The Minneriya national park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants, which are often present in huge numbers, and wading birds.

31 January - Kandy Day Tour
Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. This beautiful garden is located 6km from Kandy. It was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It covers approximately 147 acres and is a stroller’s paradise with extensive well-kept lawns, pavilions, an octagon conservatory, fernery, a giant Javan fig tree and numerous flower beds. The best attraction is the orchid House where you can discover more than 1000 plants.
The Temple of Tooth Relic (“Dalada Maligawa” as known to the locals) is located in Kandy. This sacred temple is also home to the palm-leaf transcripts and its history dates back to 1687. This stunning piece of architecture is instantly recognised by its octagonal shape and golden roof. Although you are not able to view the actual tooth itself, the casket within which it is held is displayed twice a day.

02 February - Train to Nuwara Eliya and tea plantation tour
After breakfast you will be taken to Kandy railway station where you will take the train to Nuwara Eliya.

- It is important to note that there have been delays in the train timings quite often.
- Please note the purchase of train tickets cannot be guaranteed currently due to the process in place within the Sri Lanka Railways Department especially during peak periods. Tickets for travel are issued 30 days in advance of travel, are limited and extremely difficult to obtain. In the unlikely event a ticket/s cannot be obtained we will of course make the necessary refunds & the clients will travel by road. This is a destination issue and it is best expectations are managed accordingly
Upon completion you will be taking a day tour to Nuwara Eliya and explore tea plantations, tea factory, scenic landscapes, and vibrant gardens.
